La Blouse de Lyon at Justine Lebas, artist of bread, specialized in natural sourdough and wild foraging, in her home-studio in Yvelines (78)
@lebasjustine
Each day begins with sourdough. Justine Lebas observes it, feeds it, and follows its rhythm. Trained in cooking, baking, and then culinary design, she develops a practice where bread dialogues with heritage grains, natural fermentations, and foraged plants.
Through her breads, artistic creations, and traveling workshops, she invites people to rediscover simple gestures — kneading, waiting, sharing — and to reconnect with the rhythm of life.
Justine wears a 100% organic cotton tank top, made in France by La Blouse De Lyon, with unisex work overalls, 100% cotton, Le Laboureur, and Suadou &a Moska patterned bandanas, glacier blue from Indiennes de Nîmes.
Each loaf bears the mark of a territory, a season, and the people who cultivate it. Bread thus becomes a gesture of transmission, encounter, and attention to life.
This portrait became an obvious choice. In Justine LeBas' work, as at La Blouse de Lyon, the gesture precedes the object. Time, materials, and savoir-faire are not just means of production: they give meaning to what is made and to how we live with it daily.
Justine is wearing the ecru split-neck, sleeveless sweatshirt, made in France, from La Blouse de Lyon. For a little history, its neckline is split for ease, historically used by bakers.
